Class 4A

Fort Gibson at No. 2 Wagoner



Records: Wagoner 10-0, Fort Gibson 6-4.

Last week: Sallisaw 47, Fort Gibson 28; Wagoner 31, Vinita 15.

Last meeting: Wagoner 57, Fort Gibson 14 (2011).

Series record: Wagoner leads, 24-5.

Notes: Wagoner has won the last eight meetings. The last two meetings have come in the first round of the playoffs…Wagoner finished the regular season undefeated for the fourth time since 2006…Fort Gibson will finish with back to back winning seasons for the first time since 2004-2005.

Series record: Spiro leads, 6-0.

Notes: The 467 points scored this year is a school record for a Hilldale team…Hilldale has eight or more wins for the first time in three straight seasons.

Best finish: Quarterfinals 2012.

Record: 38-40-3

Best finish: Runner up three times

Notes: Hilldale is 7-1 in home playoff games…Spiro has more playoff appearances than any other team without winning a state championship.


Jay at No. 9 Checotah

Records: Jay 6-4, Checotah 9-1.

Last week: Jay 40, Blackwell 16; Checotah 43, Spiro 28.

First meeting.

Notes: Checotah won its first district title since 2008…Checotah is 5-0 at home this season.

Notes: Stigler is 5-0 at home this season…third straight season of eight wins or more for the Panthers.

Series record: Haskell leads, 14-7-1.

Notes: Last year’s meeting came in the first round of the playoffs…Haskell is 1-4 in road games this season…Vian finished with its third straight undefeated season.

Best finish: State Champions 1971.

Notes: Vian is making its 10th straight playoff appearance and hosting its 10th straight first round game…Both team have met three times in the playoffs with Haskell winning in 1973 (32-6) and 1989 (31-13).


Class A

Warner at No. 9 Kiefer

Records: Warner 6-4, Kiefer 9-1.

Last week: Warner 42, Liberty 22; Morrison 32, Kiefer 6.

Last meeting: Kiefer 10, Warner 0 (1987).

Series record: Kiefer leads, 4-3.

Notes: Kiefer has won the last four meetings…Warner’s last win came in 1967 (44-8).
