OOLOGAH 3, HILLDALE 0 — The Hornets were stifled offensively with just three hits and stranded eight baserunners. Derek Altman was the losing pitcher, giving up 10 hits and struck out seven. Dawson Hogner had a single and Altman and Isaac Isham each had a double.

GORE TOURNAMENT – The Braggs Wildcats rode the bat of Austin Kaizzia to beat Porter 8-1.

Kaizzia was 2-for-4 with 4 runs batted in, three coming on his second home run of the year in the first inning. Andrew Askew was 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Braggs (7-6) while Rowqdy Ensminger improved to 2-2 with the win on the mound.


FGHS BOYS FIRST, MHS THIRD – Fort Gibson posted a 305 to win the Fort Gibson Invitational on Saturday. Muskogee finished third with a team score of 321 while Poteau was sandwiched in between with a 320.

For FGHS, Wesley Jackson was second in the individual standings with a 72, Dalton Rhoden was one stroke back of Jackson with a 73, Rayne Cox was fifth with a 78 and Jordan London carded an 82 to round out the Tigers’ scoring. Cade Rodgers was the Tigers’ fifth bag and shot an 84.

For the Roughers, Harris Jones shot a 76 to come in fourth in the individuals, Spencer Smythe was sixth with a 79 and Austin Jones finished in a tie for seventh with an 80. Tanner Phelps rounded out the scoring for Muskogee with an 86 while Randell Kreck shot an 88.


GORE TOURNAMENT —  Brianna Lane’s line-drive double scored Raven Girty with the first of seven runs to break a 1-1 tie in the seventh, leading Warner over Porum 8-1 in the finals. Lane got her shot when Tristan Potts, who has 13 home runs on the year but none on Saturday, drew a walk. Later in the inning, Erica Vinson hit an inside-the-park home run.

Kylie Powell’s RBI on a fielder’s choice tied it for Porum (15-10).

Warner (12-5) got to the finals by beating Gans 10-2 and Porum 9-3. Brooke Moses, the winning pitcher in each game, was 8-for-11 at the plate with two home runs, two triples and a double.

Porum beat Panama 14-6 and 8-0 in other games. For the day, Katie McCullar hit three home runs, including a pair of grand slams. Powell and Gabby Peeples were 6-for-8.

Hulbert was 2-1 today in the tournament and took fourth, beating Gans 15-9 and Gore 6-2 but losing 1-0 to Panama despite being outhit 6-4. Ashley Riley’s 3-for-4 effort led the way against Gore and she along with Megan Colvin and Ashtin Barnoskie had three hits each against Gans. Hulbert is 6-8 overall.
