Checotah wins Gore tourney

Wyatt Hatridge hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning to end the game, giving the Checotah Wildcats a 13-0 win over Chouteau and the Gore baseball tournament championship on Saturday.

The home run was Hatridge’s fifth of the season as he was 2-for-2 with six runs batted in and three runs scored. Hunter Collins was also 2-for-2 with a home run, his first of the year, and three RBIs as the Wildcats improved to 14-5 on the year.

Jack Christian was the winning pitcher, tossing a complete game and limiting Chouteau to one hit with seven strikeouts as he ran his record to 5-1.
