Prep baseball roundup and Monday's prep schedule

STILWELL TOURNAMENT – It took an extra inning but the Class 3A No. 5 Vian Wolverines triumphed over the No. 7 Eufaula Ironheads in the third-place game of the Stilwell tournament. Vian improved to 20-5 on the year while Eufaula fell to 19-5.

Jon Andrews (6-3) got the win for Vian and was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and one run scored. Josh Cowart was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Wolverines. No stats were available at press time for Eufaula.

CHECOTAH 20, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 1 – Caleb Knight improved to 5-0 on the season as the Wildcats run-ruled Victory Christian on the road on Saturday. Knight pitched three innings and struck out four. Kris Elerick was 4-for-4 for Checotah (19-5) with five runs batted in and three runs scored while Cody Cox was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBIs and Wyatt Hatridge was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and one runs scored.

HILLDALE 7, SALLISAW 4 – The Hornets trailed 2-1 heading into the fourth inning but erupted for six runs in the inning to beat Sallisaw on Saturday. Cody Walker picked up the win for the Hornets (10-13), going 6 1/3 innings of work while Derek Altman pitched the final 2/3 for the save. The two big blows for Hilldale in the fourth inning were two-run singles by Altman and Matt Bargsten. Hilldale takes on Jay at home at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

CATOOSA 4, FORT GIBSON 3 – The Class 4A No. 5 Catoosa Indians took advantage of five Fort Gibson errors to get the win. Boo Seward (5-2) was saddled with the loss for the Tigers (9-13), surrendering nine hits and two earned runs. Seward was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs while Markie Carman, Austin Davis and Tristan Johnson were 1-for-3.
