Prep basketball roundup and today's schedule

Boys

CHECOTAH 81, MORRIS 64 – At Checotah, The Wildcats put on an offensive clinic Monday, as DeShay Bear poured in 23 points, Dayton Ellen had 18 points, Deshawn Jackson with 14 points and Cameron Pipe with 11 points in a victory over Morris. Checotah led Morris 45-25 at the half. Checotah (1-0) will face Claremore at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Hilldale Tournament.

Girls

MORRIS 44, CHECOTAH 31 – At Checotah, C.J. Camp led the Lady Wildcats in scoring with 7 points on Monday as Checotah fell to Morris. The Lady Wildcats (0-1) will face Roland at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Hilldale Tournament.

Greenleaf Tourney

BOYS

OAKS 77, BRAGGS 67 – Despite the scoring efforts of Payton York with 25 points and Blaine Dunlap and Brody Igent with 12 points each, Braggs lost to Oaks on Monday. Braggs led 55-54 at the end of the third quarter before collapsing in the fourth quarter. Braggs (2-3) will play Kinta at 5:50 p.m. Thursday

HULBERT 60, KINTA 48 – Parker Taylor had 23 points, and Mason Fielder finished with 17 points as Hulbert defeated Kinta on Monday. The Riders outscored Kinta 17-9 in the second quarter as the Riders began to pull away. Hulbert (2-0) will play Oaks at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

GIRLS

OAKS 53, GORE 22 – Peyton Thomas led the Lady Pirates with 9 points as Gore lost to Oaks on Monday. Oaks led 23-9 at halftime and outscored Gore 20-4 in the third quarter. Next up for the Lady Pirates (0-1) is Braggs at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

WEBBERS FALLS 44,

BRAGGS 40 – Braggs fell to Webbers Falls on Monday. Jaycie Ray led Braggs with 16 points while Kristin Perry had 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lady Wildcats in scoring. Although a close game throughout, foul trouble plagued Braggs late in the game contributing to the loss. Braggs fell to 1-4 on the season and will play Gore at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Webbers Falls plays Oaks at 7:10 p.m. Thursday.
