Area prep football roundup and next week's schedule

WAGONER 31, VINITA 15 — Notching its first undefeated regular season since 2010, the Bulldogs, ranked second in the Associated Press poll this week, got 117 rushing yards in the first half by Lawrence Evitt to improve to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in District 4A-3.

It was  Wagoner’s fourth undefeated regular season under coach Dale Condict.

Evitt scored on a 73-yard touchdown run and didn’t play in the second half.

Meanwhile, Devin Hawkins had 105 yards rushing on 13 carries and quarterback Jake Woodson completed five of six passes for 104 yards and a 45-yard touchdown to A.J. Freeth.

EUFAULA 15, HEAVENER 7 — Quarterback Gunner Ford completed 15 of 24 passes for 275 yards and a touchdown as the Ironheads (5-5, 3-4 3A-8) notched their first non-losing season since 2008. The Ironheads also won on the road for the first time this season.

Devin Siers was the top receiver with eight catches for 186 yards and the TD. Tray Moore had five catches for 77 yards, while Shane Moore had 69 yards rushing on 12 carries and Casey Pryor had nine carries for 64 yards.

WARNER 42, LIBERTY 22 — Clint Kite ran for four touchdowns and returned an interception for another score as the Eagles (6-4, 4-2 A-8) bounced back from the 28-0 loss to Afton last week.

Kite finished with 170 yards rushing on 23 carries and scored on runs of 5, 60, 25 and 4 yards. His interception return covered 33 yards. The Eagles, the third place team in A-8, travel to Kiefer next Friday for the first round of the playoffs.

STIGLER 55, IDABEL 7 — Seth Sandlin ran for 174 yards and four touchdowns as the Panthers (8-2, 6-1 3A-8) rolled to the victory. Stigler fell just short of scoring 60 or more points for the third straight game, but got the runner-up spot in district. The Panthers will play Lincoln Christian in the first round of the playoffs.

PORTER 12, FOYIL 7 — Derrick Roath’s 65-yard touchdown run in third quarter was the difference as the Pirates (3-7, 2-4 A-8) took the victory. Porter got its other TD when Darius Steele returned a kickoff 90 yards in the first half.

LINCOLN CHRISTIAN 35, SEQUOYAH 14 — Senior Cody Hooper returned two kickoffs —one for 93 yards with 24 seconds left in the first half and the other for 80 yards with 9:23 left in the third quarter — but the season came to an end for the Indians (4-6, 2-4). The latter return cut Sequoyah’s deficit to 28-14. Hooper’s sophomore brother Justin ran for 146 yards on 25 carries.

COLLINSVILLE 33, TAHLEQUAH 23 — The Tigers (1-9, 1-6 5A-4) got within 26-23 late in the fourth quarter, but they couldn't catch up. Collinsville (8-2, 6-1) clinched the district title.

LOCUST GROVE 54, KEYS 24 — Dakota Matlock ran for 147 yards on 21 carries and scored on a pair of six-yard touchdown runs as the Cougars (1-9, 1-5) wrapped up their season. Chase Girdner caught four passes for 53 yards, while quarterback Garrett Willis passed for 45 yards and ran for 35 more. Locust Grove goes to the playoffs as the District 3A-7 champions.

ARKOMA 48, WEBBERS FALLS 24 — Despite Darren Shanks’ 162 yards rushing on 34 carries and a touchdown, the Warriors (4-5, 3-4 C-4) lost the regular season finale to snap a three-game winning streak in the series and missed the postseason.

Shanks also completed 16 of 25 passes for 98 yards. Dusty Mason had 11 carries for 76 and a TD, while catching seven passes for 43 yards. Tristan Warrick returned an interception for 26 yards and a TD.

TALININA 48, GORE 8 — Wade Shanks’ one-yard TD run was the Pirates’ lone score as their season comes to an end at 2-8 overall and 2-4 in District A-6. District champion Talihina is now 10-0 and 6-0.

STROTHER 76, PORUM 36 — Porum wraps up the season at 4-6 overall and 3-6 in B-4.

THACKERVILLE 54, MIDWAY 6 — The Panthers (1-9, 1-6 C-4) finish with their first ever nine- loss season in falling to district champion Thackerville (9-0, 7-0).
