OKLAHOMA SWEPT — The Sooners managed just one hit in a 7-0 loss to Lousiana-Lafayette in game one and four hits in a 3-1 loss in game two. OU fell to 18-8. Layfette is 17-6-1. Kelsey Stevens took the loss in both games.

SOUTH ALABAMA 5, OKLAHOMA STATE 1 — Three unearned runs hurt the Cowgirls, who outhit South Alabama 8-6. Hilldale grad Danielle Riddle had one of those hits for OSU.

NSU WINS TWO — The RiverHawks (19-7, 7-1 MIAA) took 6-3 and 8-5 wins at Tahlequah over Missouri Southern (6-14, 0-14). Alyssa Aguillar drove in three runs and Muskogee ex Madison Reed scored twice. Kayce Wooldridge threw a complete-game six-hitter. In game two, Madison Boyd and Navada Campos led NSU with two hits each, while Allyson Pogue added two hits and four RBI.

NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS 14, CONNORS STATE 1 — Connors managed only three base hits and fell to North Central Texas 14-1 in their opening game of the Midwest Softball Classic Saturday at Bentley Field.

The other two scheduled games for the Cowgirls (16-3) were rained out. Connors will play Sunday at 9 a.m. against Angelina, Texas.

Kristen Reasnor (8-2) took the loss in the circle. Connors’ only run came on an RBI double by Taylor Canida scoring Jessica Christian in the second innings.

Prep baseball

OWASSO 6, MUSKOGEE 1 — Muskogee finished second in the Owasso Invitational and is 5-2 overall. Austin Jones was 2-for-3, Tracy Hughes had a double and Harris Jones, Cody Floyd, Dakota Morse all had singles. The Roughers outhit Owasso 6-5.

WAGONER 4, CHECOTAH 3 — An overthrow at first base allowed Preston Whitten to score after his double in the fourth inning and it held up for the win for the Bulldogs.

Checotah (3-2) had tied the game at 3 in the top of the fourth when Hunter Collins' base hit drove in Andrew Sands, then Collins scored on Chris Elerick's sacrifice fly. Wagoner's three-run first, highlighted by a two-run double by Roman Rodriguez, gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.

Wyatt Hatridge scattered six hits over seven innings in a tough-luck loss on the mound. Joey Charboneau (1-0) went six innings for Wagoner (3-2), giving up five hits before Tyler Millgan threw the seventh, allowing a single by Caleb Knight before escaping with his first save. Knight had two hits in three trips.

MIAMI 6, HILLDALE 1  — The Hornets fell to  0-4 with a home loss. Derek Altman (0-2) took the loss, striking out eight while giving up seven hits. Dakota Holmes’ sacrifice fly in the sixth scored Hilldale’s only run.

SPIRO 8, VIAN 0 — In the Vian Invitational, Vian fell to 4-1 giving up five unearned runs in the seventh. The Wolverines’ scheduled game with Prairie Grove, Ark., was rained out.

OKTAHA AT CROWDER — Rained out.

KEYS, HULBERT, GORE AT KEYS — No report.
