MHS boys open with win

DALLAS – Muskogee boys basketball team had three players finish in double figures as it opened the season with a 58-45 win over Faith Family Academy, handing the Eagles their first loss of the year, in the Faith Family Tournament on Friday.

David Beasley and Tramal Ivy led the Roughers with 13 points each while Cantrell Ashley finished with 10 points.

The Roughers led 23-21 at the half but saw FFA (7-1) tie the game 42-42 heading into the final quarter. Muskogee’s defense tightened up and held the Eagles to three points in the final stanza to pull away for the win.

The Roughers conclude action in the tournament at 5:30 p.m. today against Gateway Charter.
