7th and 8th Grade Center’s Ecology Club turned 250 plastic cups into temporary terrariums, places for the caterpillars to become butterflies. They’ll hand out the cups at the Earth Day celebration at the Farmer’s Market.

Students hope project evolves into butterflies

Flusche said she hopes the butterfly adoption would lead to opportunities for Ecology Club members to share what they learned with elementary school students.

“I hope the students learn a respect and appreciation for the earth and how to protect it,” she said.
