The people speak; Night thieves hurt nonprofit’s operations

It’s hard to believe that anyone could steal from a nonprofit, a struggling humane society, but they did for the second time.

The first thieves stole 500 bricks stacked in the back of PAWS Animal Haven and Adoption Facility that were donated to us.

Then this past Friday about 8:30 p.m., someone stole about 10 bags of aluminum cans from our front porch that we have people save for us. Then the thieves went to the side of the building and emptied over half of a full dumpster full of cans ready to be picked up by Yaffe’s to be sold and a check then mailed to us.

We have been asking people to save their pop and beer cans for us. Like all humane societies, we struggle and this helps some.

The thieves are awfully brave with the highway patrol station just across the street. I hope you think about this and give us the money back you stole from us. Have you thought about getting a job and then you wouldn’t have to steal from someone? You are really a low life in our eyes.

Anyone who might have seen someone doing this, please give us a call at 686-7297.

Dorothy Farmer, PAWS executive director,

Muskogee
