Published May 11, 2008 08:50 pm - THE PEOPLE SPEAK: People like Rep. Kern have an agenda, too Robert Bornfleth again writes (May 1) to tell readers that homosexuals are sinners and he and Rep. Sally Kern are righteous.
I, too, listened to Kern’s remarks and she clearly compared homosexuals to terrorists. Homosexuals are seeking civil equality and do have an agenda to make their civil rights a part of the civics educational process. Nowhere have I ever heard homosexuals try to tell children that they should not believe in God. Most homosexuals are also Christian, a fact completely lost on Bornfleth. He, Kern and others do have an agenda — to remake America into a theocracy by denouncing anything that is not in keeping with their version of Christianity. I have yet to hear or read any tirade against gays without the invocation of God as justification. Gays and lesbians are not requesting that our government give them a certificate of admissibility to heaven, but only that they be granted the same legal protections for their “marriages” as is granted to Bornfleth and Kern.
