THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Candidate’s Iraq policy has long-term sound

May 18, 2008 05:34 pm

Do you suppose that since both words end in “tion” that George W. and his crew don’t know the difference between liberation and occupation?
Did John McCain really say we might be there for 100 years?
How many Americans have heard that the United States is building an embassy in Baghdad that stretches the imagination?
The new embassy was planned to cost $539 million, but a slight cost overrun has the total now at $736 million. But it might be a bargain per square foot as the size is three times bigger than the Pentagon. That’s right, three times bigger than the Pentagon.
The State Department and the Department of Defense are currently feuding about the quality of construction.
Lest there not be enough room in the embassy for all the heads needed to occupy Iraq, fear not! The U.S. Army is busy building 14 permanent bases.
Does “Vote for McCain” rhyme” with “More of the same”?
