Published July 15, 2008 06:36 pm - THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Closed roads cause too many problems This is a response to Philip Obal’s letter that was published on July 15. I would like to also add that when Mr. Crittenden left office, all roads in District 2 were open and there were no roads closed.
Now, since Ronnie Pevehouse has been in office there are five to seven roads closed in District 2. People have to drive into McIntosh County to get home and get to work, miles out of their way. I live on Coffee Road and I can wait to have this road paved if it means fixing other roads so that people can get to work and be with their families a lot sooner. I would also like to point out that a big problem Pevehouse brought on himself was his first day in office he caused a lawsuit to be filed against the county. Even though the insurance paid most of it, who pays the insurance — the taxpayers. Another point I would like to stress is that all roads were open in District 2 and money to pave Coffee Road was already in place when Pevehouse took office.
