THE PEOPLE SPEAK: Pevehouse saves money at all the wrong times

July 19, 2008 09:52 pm

When I hear the name of Ronnie Pevehouse, I think of the three men and woman he fired on his first day in office.
He knew those people had families to feed, people who depended upon them. But he fired them anyway and never thought twice about doing it.
He had never even seen their work ethic; he just came in on his first day and said he didn’t need their services anymore, without any explanation.
Another thing I think about when I hear that name is grave digging. We taxpayers pay Pevehouse’s salary. We pay for all the county workers’ wages. When someone dies, that is no time to start trying to save money.
We have paid that money in advance when we pay our taxes. He didn’t think about saving money when he fired those four people.
When you hear him speak, he talks about how much money he has saved the people of District 2. If he saving our district so much money, why do we have seven bridges still out? Where is all the money he’s saving us?
Do you want a man who goes and fires good, hard-working people without an explanation, and that costs us taxpayers thousands of dollars, then turns around and tries to save money by cutting corners in our time of need?
Well, I don’t.
I want someone who will work for us, someone who will listen to what we have to say.
That man is Roscoe Duke. If you hear him speak or read one of his handouts, he says that is his intention if he gets elected. He says he is willing to work to make a difference, a man who will listen and work for all. I believe him.
He has my vote.
