Published October 11, 2008 04:44 pm - THE PEOPLE SPEAK: How they campaign will be how they govern This past week we have seen the proverbial chickens-come-home-to-roost meltdown of the financial markets.
Now we the taxpayers will have to pay $1 trillion to clean up this mess that the Republicans in their zeal of deregulation have made. On Sept. 19, the two candidates made statements on the situation. John McCain's statement was a retread of lies and personal attacks on Obama. He said nothing on where we as a nation need to go to get us out of this mess. Barack Obama, on the other hand, made no attacks even though he had ample ammunition to do so and offered a plan to not only stabilize the markets but also help out the majority of American people. How you campaign is how you would govern, and if you believe that, then you also believe that McCain is unfit to be president. Ronald Alexander Muskogee
