THANK YOU 01.04.14

— The family of Georgia (Bolin) Mangrum wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the calls, visits, prayers, cards, flowers and food during the loss of our mother, Georgia Mangrum.

Your kind words of sympathy and memories of our mother touched us deeply. It is comforting to know she was special to so many and will be greatly missed.

We want to extend a special thanks to those who cared for our mother with such love, kindness, and skill: Dr. David Kyger, (CHC) Solara Hospital, Hope Hospice, Restore Homehealth and home caregivers, Connie Dainna, and Denise.

Our sincere appreciation to Pastor Gene Thompson and members of York Street Christian Church. Finally, thanks to Gary Cooper and the entire staff of Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Darrell and Cathy Bolin, Muskogee

Linda and Gerald Galloupe, Texarkana, Texas

Phyllis and Robert Warren, Muskogee

Donna and Mike Kobb, Memphis, Tenn.

I just want to say thank you Charles Pearson. He is our sheriff in Muskogee county. I know first-hand why he has been since 2000 and better be for the rest of his life. He is a friend to the people who know him and a friend to those who don’t. Just call him if you need help, with anything at all. Thank you brother.

On behalf of the American Red Cross serving Muskogee, Cherokee, and Adair counties, thank you!

As this year comes to a close, I want extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to our selfless volunteers, generous donors and tireless board members who, together, make it possible for the Red Cross to stand ready, 24/7, to respond to disaster. Your contributions of your time, your money and your lifesaving blood are vital to us and to those whose lives are made better because of your gifts.

Because of you, the local Red Cross was able to give financial assistance to our neighbors in need (117 families) for a safe place to stay, food to eat and a change of clothing after fire which stole their home and belongings. The Red Cross connected our brave military men and women with their 87 families here at home during times of family crisis.  And we equipped thousands with information that will help prepare them and their families to face emergencies and recover afterward.

Thank you to our media providers, military men and women, law enforcement, emergency management, 911 call centers, firefighters, medical personnel, VOAD’s, utility crews, and all other emergency operation teams and each of your families for all you do.

We are fortunate to live alongside you in this giving, caring community and we are honored to serve you through the Red Cross. If you need Red Cross assistance, want to volunteer, take a class or make a financial donation, please visit us at www.redcross.org/EasternOklahoma, call me at (918) 682-1366, or stop by my office at 566 N. 6th St.

Again, thank you for your generous support. Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season and throughout the coming year.

I am so sorry that I’ve neglected to give praise where praise belongs, but The American Legion Post 403, would like to say “thank you” to The Muskogee Phoenix and the young lady who did such an awesome job covering the Oktaha “First Ever” parade story.

All were very pleased with her coverage of this event and it went over so well. The mayor wanted Post 403 to get a Christmas parade together.

We will be having the Veterans Day parade again next year!

“Thank you” to all at The Muskogee Phoenix for your support of our veterans in the Muskogee area! You do an outstanding job!

I am very proud of my association with you, as is The Joshua M. Seal American Legion Post 403 Oktaha.
