THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Act of kindness, pass it on

I recently had an act of kindness bestowed on me.

I was recently eating my dinner in a local Fort Gibson restaurant when I went to pay my bill. The waitress said “your bill has been paid. I asked “by who?” She said “the young couple in the corner booth,” which had already left.

I replied that we don’t know each other. She said “it was just an act of kindness.” I told her “I could have very well paid my bill.” She said “well someday maybe you could treat someone else with the same act of kindness.”

So often we read and hear of such horrible crimes in this area. If we all took the time to bestow this act of kindness on someone, wouldn’t it be a better place to live? It made my day and I’m sure it would someone else.

Try it someday.

I plan to do it soon.
