THE PEOPLE SPEAK - Saying no to child could save a life

When are lake visiting parents going to accept their adult parenting responsibilities and stop allowing their ATVs and golf carts from being operated on the streets, roads and highways by their unlicensed, underage children? Almost every holiday, extreme caution must be exercised operating a lawful licensed vehicle to prevent a collision with an ATV or golf cart operated by a child.

It seems every parent believes it will not happen to my child. Parents, death or severe injury is no respecter of age or person. As a 50 year-plus experienced pastor, I have officiated too many funeral services and visited too many hospital rooms for children which the word no from a wise responsible parent could have prevented. Hopefully, someday this word will enable your children to see the faces of their grandchildren.
