Just when we thought the First Amendment reached its breaking point, another thread of inane cacophony emerges from the fringes of hate, bigotry, and intolerance, namely the KKK. Again. But, as our form of government allows free expression of ideas, whether verbal or in print, we must go on and express our views just as strongly.
Somewhere in the dark recesses of someone’s mind the seed of prejudice was planted and it grew without any attempt to stop it. It has had periods of dormancy and comes up once more. History has its own way of teaching hard lessons if we would just pay attention to them.
There are relationships that do not have anything to do with racial bias, whatsoever, but some people don’t want to get out of the narrow-minded rut they’ve fallen into.
There are other races of people but the KKK is determined to focus on just one. Burning crosses and wearing hooded costumes bespeaks of another level of mentality. No one race is superior to another. Period. So, our First Amendment just got a little stronger and a little more elastic.
