THE PEOPLE SPEAK – Model churches, gospel solely on scripture

— This is addressed to all church members and particularly pastors.

I, and many other believers, are exceedingly grieved by the apparent lack of devout, pious, scripture-based, true Christianity in the churches. Most churches seem more interested in drawing the world with unscriptural, worldly rock concerts, dramas and other gimmicks than in preaching the Gospel and waiting on God to add to his church, as expressed in Acts 2:47.

Most of you hold to a corrupt Arminian gospel. You tell the entire world God loves them. God doesn’t love those he never saves, as is proved by passages such as Psalm 7:11 and John 17:9. You reference passages such as John 3:16 to try to prove God loves the whole world. By this same logic I can prove with Romans 1:8 that the American Indians were talking about the Roman’s faith, and with Luke 2:1 that Caesar taxed them. You cannot just say, “world means world.” This word, as all others in Scripture, must be interpreted in context. An honest study of scripture will show there are two spiritual worlds, lost and saved.

You preach a person’s decision for Jesus is a primary factor in their salvation. This is clearly contradicted by passages such as Ephesians 2:8-9 and Romans 9.

You are filling the churches with unsaved members with this “decision” gospel. Many of you will accept as members murderous pro-choice people, sodomites, blasphemers, fornicators, and every other kind of ungodly people who show no fruits of being genuine Christians. If anyone were to suggest you should excommunicate such as these, as is clearly commanded in 1 Corinthians 5, you would gasp in horror. Judging by this, by the state of undress of many of your members, and by other tokens, you hold few standards of practical holiness. Remember Hebrews 12:14.

I beg you to begin to model your churches and your gospel solely on scripture. To those Christians who attend churches that refuse to do so, I urge you, for your soul’s sake, to seek out one that does.
