THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Stop fighting for power and offer health help

Members of Congress, the American people are being played for fools in the current health care debate.  Stop fighting for political power and Wall Street money like crazy people and offer us a health care system with improvements we can live with!

People, no matter what your political persuasion may be, let’s look at the facts that are being ignored.  A massive special report, “Bitter Pill” by Steven Brill, published in the March 4, 2013, issue of TIME Magazine summarizes the problem beautifully.  Health care in America costs too much, and we aren’t getting acceptable care for our money.

On page 20 of this special report, we learn that “According to a series of exhaustive studies done by the McKinsey & Co. consulting firm, we spend more on health care than the next 10 biggest spenders COMBINED;  Japan, Germany, France, China, the U.K., Italy, Canada, Brazil, Spain, and Australia.” Our present system victimizes doctors, hospitals, patients, and taxpayers alike, so what are we fighting about?

Whether you are for Obamacare or not, e-mail your member of Congress and tell them we deserve better.  Demand that they stop fighting and design a system that works and doesn’t price millions of people out of health care!  And while they are at it, stop whining about “Socialized Medicine.” If you are dying with cancer, you don’t care whether your treatment is socialist or capitalist.  The sooner we understand that, the better.
