Thank you - 12.29.12

— PIRATE,

Just a quick thank you for again making a lot of people’s days bright. I haven’t quit smiling yet. Bless your sweet heart.

Tommie Leith

I WOULD LIKE to send a letter of great gratitude to Hope Hospice. My grandfather has been diagnosed with a lung and brain cancer and wanted to spend his last days with my grandmother of 61 years in their home. My grandmother and mother chose Hope Hospice to be the hospice to make him more comfortable and be able to be where he loved the most, with my grandmother and his children and to watch his horse in the pasture.

Although Hope Hospice does not advertise, my family decided to go with them. As we all know, watching someone we love dearly slowly slip away in front of you is one of the hardest things anyone has to go through. Hope came in and becomes one of the family. They treated my grandfather as if he was their father/grandfather. They did not act as if this was a job to them, but as if they were taking care of a family member/friend.

Having to go through this difficult period and although it was not easy, Hope gave my grandfather what he had asked for. To be home and with his family and not be treated as a patient.

Hope does not advertise their services, but I just wanted to make sure to give praise where praise is granted. After my grandfather passed, that was not just it for Hope. They made sure that my grandmother was OK as well as being present at the viewing and the funeral. Again, they became a friend/family. Hope gave my family a sense of peace as my grandfather was passing.
