THE PEOPLE SPEAK - Whom can we trust if we can’t trust educators?

— On Nov. 1 a new law took effect that requires schools to report bullying. My 7-year-old granddaughter was bullied and assaulted by a teacher at Benjamin Franklin School last year. Don’t take my word for it, ask Benjamin Franklin to release the video tape to the public.

The charge, although a misdemeanor, was based upon the video tape, which came from school security cameras. The assailant is still an employee in the public school system. We as parents entrust the educators to protect our children when they are at school. If we can’t trust the educators who do we trust?

My granddaughter was emotionally traumatized by this unprotected attack/abuse. It is my desire to make the city of Muskogee aware of this woman and keep her out of our school system.
