THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Payne is honest, will work hard for people

I am writing on behalf of Kenny Payne, who is running for Muskogee County Commissioner, District 3. Kenny is running for commissioner because he believes he can do the job and do it well.

I have known Kenny for over 51 years. I probably know him as well as anyone on this earth and better than most. Why? Because he is my brother. Another reason is because I am his pastor.  Kenny has served as a deacon at Timothy Baptist Church for approximately 20 years. I have been the pastor there for 14 years and have worked closely with Kenny on a variety of projects including budgeting, leading people, but mostly attempting to live our lives daily to please our savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

With that in mind, I want to make it publicly known that I believe Kenny Payne is an honest man who will work hard for the people of Muskogee County. He is more familiar with the job of county commissioner than the other candidates running for the office because he has been around it for the last 17 years. He has run a successful business for 20 years, and has served the people of Muskogee by serving on a variety of city committees as well as the City Council.

Kenny is one who will listen to what you say, evaluate it, and help you if he can. He, and the rest of our family, have served the people of Muskogee County for many years. We were raised to treat all people the same regardless of social standing, race, or where you live, and we live our life by that standard. If you want someone who will not discriminate and will serve all people equal, I’d highly encourage you to vote for Kenny Payne for County Commissioner District 3.  He is the best person for the job.

KELLY PAYNE
