There is a great need to help We, The People to become well informed about our American History and about current events. Moreover, we need to be preparing ourselves to be informed voters when the elections — state and federal — occur in 2014 and 2016. To accomplish this goal of citizen education, there is a newly formed organization, Muskogee Patriot Townhall, that will commence its first meeting April 4, and every month thereafter on the first Thursday, at the public library from 6:30-9:00 p.m. in the Grant Foreman Room. At the meetings, the audience will have the opportunity to ask the guest speakers questions and get answers that are truthful, insightful and in every way useful information. The meetings are open to the public without charge.
The first speaker is Tim Gillespie from Shawnee, President of the OK2A (Oklahomans for the 2nd Amendment), who will speak on “Oklahoma Gun Laws.” The second speaker is Paul Blair from Edmond who ran a campaign last year to be Representative to the Oklahoma House for District 41. He will tell how his campaign taught him many important lessons; being defeated has a way of providing significant learning about behind-the-scene opposition.
A speakers' roster will be available at the meeting along with information materials. The speakers will provide materials pertaining to their respective presentations.
