ON BEHALF OF my late husband, George Denton, and myself, I would like to say thank you to the friends, neighbors, and family who have been a constant source of love, support, and help through the past six years of surgeries, disabilities, and multiple health issues. You know who you are and how much you are loved and appreciated by us.
Thank you to the VA Hospital for many years of healthcare and support. A special thank you to Lynette Gunn and her staff at the VA wound care clinic. They gave real caring along with the medical care.
Thank you to the home health caregivers since 2006; Shelly, Rosie, Brenda, Patty, Dana, and many others, you became family in the true sense of the word. To our Boulevard Christian Church family, thank you for giving us the inspiration, hope, and faith to continue looking ahead trusting in Jesus’ promises.
Thank you Pleasant Valley Health Care Center for the care you gave. It was an opportunity for making new friends, enjoying new activities and a renewal of joy and hope in Jesus. Michele, John, Angel, Sarah, Courtney, Shelly, and others may God bless you for the love and attention you gave George. My appreciation to Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory for the sensitive, caring and professional way you carried out the arrangements for George’s funeral.
AS WE BEGIN our journey into 2013, I want to thank everyone who supported the American Red Cross in 2012. Thank you to all our monetary donors and disaster response volunteers. It is because of you that we were able to provide $71,232 in financial assistance to 121 families (386 individuals in Adair, Cherokee, and Muskogee Counties) overcoming the horror of becoming homeless as a result of natural disasters. I also want to thank all our blood donors who save lives every day. Thank you to my Advisory Board (Wren Stratton, Kelly Faltyn, Xan Bryant, Michael Anthamatten, Gary Jackson, Mike Garde, Beth Seim, Derrick Reed, Nick Thompson, Tracy Blair, Kelly Epperson, and Brian Sitsler). This office would not be successful without your guidance and support. I want to thank our local media outlets, who graciously run stories keeping area residents aware of current events! Thank you to our dedicated members of the fire departments, law enforcement, emergency management, ambulance services, county health departments, and all other partner agencies who ensure our safety and welfare on a daily basis.
I would be remiss to not make a plea for help. We continuously need monetary donations and volunteers who want to help those families that will experience disasters in our three-county service area as we never know when or how extensive our next disaster response will be. For more details, please call me at (918) 682-1366 or stop by my office at 566 N. 6th St. Muskogee, OK 74401 (inside the Muskogee Swim & Fitness Center).
