THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Anyone but Moore for district attorney

I have had only one occasion to deal with the Muskogee County District Attorney, and that was when I filed a complaint with his office.

In the more than two years since, our current DA, Larry Moore, has not asked me even a single question concerning what was submitted to him. It is a near certainty that the Board of Directors of one of the Muskogee County volunteer fire departments has committed the crime of misappropriation of taxpayer-provided funds, which is a felony.

Larry Moore has refused to investigate this documented act.

By definition, all felonies are very serious crimes and are not to be dismissed lightly. I cannot understand why the chief law enforcer for the county has decided to ignore such an egregious violation of state law.

It is sad indeed that he has decided a particular felony is not worthy of his time.

We depend upon the DA to ensure that our laws, especially the big ones, are followed by everyone.

For him to protect an organization due to personal association, not wanting to offend a group of voters, or some other reason, is simply disgusting.

There are some very qualified candidates running for the office of district attorney.

The clear choice in this race for DA is simple: anyone but Larry Moore.
