Published January 10, 2008 10:58 pm - NSU hosts math, science conference TAHLEQUAH — The Northeastern Oklahoma Mathematics and Science Teacher Association will host its annual conference from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 26 at Northeastern State University.
The conference, for kindergarten through 12th grade math and science teachers and university professors, will be held at the new NSU Science Building. The theme of the conference is “Exploring the Natural World Through Math and Science.” Scheduled workshops topics include math and science for special populations, water quality monitoring, using manipulatives to teach math, teaching metric units, using technology to teach math and science, biotechnology and genetics, ag in the classroom, NASA and literature in the science classroom. Dr. Alex Simms, assistant professor of Geology at Oklahoma State University, will also present his research on Antarctica. To register, visit arapaho.nsuok.edu/~nomsta.
