Muskogee police are seeking the public’s help to find the person(s) who removed six air conditioner units from behind several businesses and a church.
Sometime between 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday, someone removed the six units, valued at $15,000, from behind a shopping center at 3300 Chandler Road.
“Most were Carrier units,” said Bryan Farmer, investigator.
Police believe the units may be stripped and sold for the copper wire. The thefts are only the most recent of their kind. Bible Baptist Church, 917 Admiral St., reported two units taken on Jan. 20, Farmer said.
Back in December, someone took 4,440 feet of copper wire valued at more than $88,000 from Glover Construction, Farmer said.
Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to the arrest of people who commit crimes in the Muskogee area.
If you have any information regarding this or any other serious crime, call Crime Stoppers at 682-COPS.
