Two-vehicle collision sends two to hospital

From Phoenix staff reports

A two-vehicle accident Wednesday sent two individuals to Muskogee Regional Medical Center, police said.

Sam Quinton, 81, was being treated in the Emergency Room evening and his condition was not known, a spokeswoman said Wednesday evening.

He wore a neck brace as he was put into an ambulance.

Quinton was a passenger in a black Buick Lucerne being driven westbound on Okmulgee Avenue when it turned south to go into a driveway at Tender Touch car wash near 40th Street, said police officer Don Johnson.

The Buick, driven by Ruby Duke, 76, of Muskogee turned in front of an Oldsmobile Capris Classic being driven by a 17-year-old Muskogee juvenile, Johnson said.

The juvenile was driving eastbound in the outside lane of Okmulgee at the time of the accident, police said.

The juvenile, whose name was not released, was taken to MRMC, where he, too, was being treated in the Emergency Room, police said.

He had complained of mouth and head pain, Johnson said.

Duke was cited for failure to yield, Johnson said.
