<font color = green>P.M. UPDATE:</font>Workshop and presentation set in honor of Black History Month

— WARNER — In recognition of Black History Month, Connors State College’s Development Foundation and the Black Student Society of Connors State is sponsoring a workshop/presentation Tuesday.
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Harold Aldridge, Jr., a well-known eastern Oklahoma educator who grew up in Taft. The workshop will be from 10-11:30 a.m. in the LLC Auditorium on the Warner Campus.
Aldridge is professor emeritus at Northeastern State University. He taught at NSU from 1970 until 1997.
He also is a blues musician and a cowboy. Born in San Francisco and raised in Taft, Aldridge saw the segregation and integration of the public school system as both a student and as a son of the first black coach to receive All-State honors in Oklahoma.
He graduated from Taft High School and was one of the first black basketball players to be selected to the Oklahoma All-State team.
