Wagoner High School senior Kaileigh Bullard has been named 2008 Oklahoma’s Junior Miss.
She received the honor Saturday at the Bartlesville Community Center and will go on to represent Oklahoma in the 51st America’s Junior Miss national finals in Mobile, Ala., in June.
Bullard, daughter of Mark and Gayle Bullard, also received the overall Self-Expression, Scholastic, Fitness, Talent and Judges' Interview awards in the contest.
The title is the latest honor for Kaileigh Bullard, who is ranked at the top of her class at Wagoner High School. In 2007, she was one of three area high school juniors to get $500 scholarships for being top Muskogee Phoenix Academic All-Stars.
Bullard is active as an officer in the Wagoner High School Senior Club and is vice president of the Business Professionals of America. Bullard is a member of Teens for Christ, plus homecoming and prom committees. Her volunteer work includes assisting with American Red Cross blood drives, organizing local Veterans Day assemblies, and she has performed benefits for different local organizations. At the Junior Miss contest, Bullard sang, did a clog dance and fiddled to “This Country’s Rockin’/Orange Blossom Special.”
Bullard, along with Zach and Colton Swon of Muskogee will perform at the Night of the Rising Stars, 7:30 p.m. April 12 in Wagoner.
Bullard has one brother, Kolton. She is the granddaughter of Barbara and Bob Bullard of Morris and Frankie and the late Forest Clark of Wagoner.
