OKLAHOMA CITY — A contract funded by the federal economic stimulus program was awarded to repair the drive along Interstate 40 in Muskogee County, State Sen. Earl Garrison, D-Muskogee, and State Rep. Ed Cannaday, D-Porum, announced.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the project involves repairing a bridge along I-40 from mile marker 281 to 288.
Garrison said the State Transportation Commission awarded a contract for just under $34 million on the project to Duit Construction and TTK Construction. The Edmond company was the lowest of three bidders for the job, Cannaday said.
Once construction begins, the project is estimated to be completed within 600 days.
