Notre Dame photo wins art competition
Young photographer’s work will hang in Washington, D.C.

While the mother agreed that the “Offerings” picture is beautiful, “she has some that are even more impressive.”
“Brothers,” a colored pencil drawing of tigers by Stacy Rutherford of Inola, placed third.
Murphy said the Muskogee High School art program “has a strong group of kids this year.”
She said the students range from beginning art class to Advanced Placement and are skilled in a variety of art forms.
Artistic Discovery awards
First: “Offerings at Notre Dame,” photography, Meagan Young, Fort Gibson.
Second: “Bottled Impressionism,” acrylic, Sumin Kim, Muskogee.
Third: “Brothers,” colored pencil, Stacy Rutherford, Inola.
Honorable mention:
• “Let’s Go Eat Some Macaroni and Cheese,” pastel, Daniel Valencia, Fort Gibson.
• “Graphite Girl #1,” graphite, Areli Diaz, Muskogee.
• “Tree of Life,” watercolor/ink, Chelsea Crittenden, Fort Gibson.
