FSA announces county committee election

— The Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee election for 2009 will be held in Local Administrative Area (LAA) #3, said Brian Hisey, Muskogee County Farm Service Agency executive director in a media release.
LAA# 3 consists of the southeastern 1/3 of county, including Warner, Webbers Falls and Porum and south to the county line. Eligible voters will receive a nomination form as an attachment to the June 2009 county office newsletter, or one can be obtained at the county office.
FSA is accepting nominations from groups representing producers who are fairly representative of agricultural producers in the area, seeking female and minority nominees. Valid petitions will be limited to one nominee each. Petitions must be signed and returned by the close of business Aug. 3.
Ballots will be mailed in mid-November.
