Fair Tax topic of meeting

— The Muskogee County Young Republicans will be meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Flair’s Grille. Dr. Randy Jarman will speak about the Fair Tax.

Georgia Congressman John Linder has sponsored HR25 for the last five years. There are 72 co-sponsors of this bipartisan legislation, including U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn and U.S. Rep. Dan Boren.

The Fair Tax eliminates the current income tax structure and replaces it with a National Sales Tax on retail products and services.
The Fair Tax is designed to stimulate the economy by unburdening people of the income tax. The legislation puts the tax burden on those with more money to spend. Each month, every family will receive a rebate check from the government reimbursing them for taxes paid on basic necessities, giving lower income working families a break.
