Festival draws 30,000, officials say By Cathy SpauldingPhoenix Staff Writer “The festival usually falls on Mother’s Day Weekend, so it’s a natural homecoming weekend,” said Kiwanis Treasurer Charles Crozier. “Otherwise, people just like strawberries.”
Results The 2007 Strawberry Festival Queen and Court: Queen: Charbrice Rhea, Westville High School senior. First Runner-Up: Haley Hunt, Stilwell High School senior. Second Runner-Up: Kate Huggins, Watts High School senior. Top Strawberries First Place: Baird’s Family Farm. Winning auction bid, $2,600, Armstrong Bank. Second Place: David Guevera. Winning bid, $1,500, Means Furniture. Third Place: James Family Farm: Winning bid, $1,700, Bank of Commerce. Fourth Place: Andrew Cain. Winning bid, $1,650, Armstrong Bank.
