Officer, rookie of the year named

From Phoenix staff reports

Two Muskogee police officers recently were recognized for their outstanding achievements with the department.

Muskogee Police Sgt. Shannon Crary has been named Officer of the Year, and Rookie Officer of the Year is Brad Giulioli.

With the department since January 1995, Crary has worked in the Patrol Division for three years, Public Relations for two years and almost 10 years in the Criminal Investigation Division. She is a Crime Scene Investigator and investigates most types of major crime.

Deputy Chief Johnny Teehee praised Crary for taking on a difficult task.

“She kind of took on a specialty as far as child abuse goes,” he said. “She began to specialize in that field. It doesn’t matter what the task is, she takes it on and sees it through.”

Crary is married to Steve Crary. She has one daughter, Bailey, and two English bulldogs.

Her hobbies include riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle as often as possible, fishing for crappie and spending time with her family.

Crary is an active member of Southeast Baptist Church and enjoys singing in the church choir.

Teehee called Giulioli a hard worker.

“”From talking to supervisors and watching him work, he is an all around good officer,” he said. “We’ve had a long line of good rookies as we’ve gone through the years. We’ve been fortunate to draw from the kind of officers we have.”

Giulioli was born in Okmulgee and is a 2002 graduate of Okmulgee High School. He is a 2006 graduate of Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Marketing.

He also was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Giulioli has been employed with the Muskogee Police Department since February 2008.

He is an avid outdoorsman and bow hunter.
