Felony arrest warrants were issued late Friday for two Muskogee residents in the shooting and skinning of a small dog at Hopewell Park.
The pelt of the Jack Russell terrier was nailed to the back of one of the suspect’s apartment in Muskogee, said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson.
Pearson said the two residents confessed to Muskogee police that they shot and skinned the dog.
The dog had been given to Krystal Lewis, 24, by a girlfriend, Pearson said.
“They had a falling out, it appears,” Pearson said.
Austin Mullins, 26, allegedly shot the dog at Hopeful Park. Lewis, 23, allegedly skinned the dog and a 19-year-old girl sat in the car and watched, Pearson said.
