City council

At its regular meeting Monday, the Muskogee City council approved:

• Estimated payroll of $900,000 for the pay period ending June 27.

• Bid for water treatment chemicals.

• Low bids by line item on ready mix concrete.

• Awarding $18.588 million construction contract to Van Horn Construction Inc. for Muskogee Water Treatment Plant expansion.

• Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality permits for construction of water lines to serve the Armed Forces Reserve Center to be built at Davis Field.

• Contract with Muskogee Development through June 30. City will pay group $175,000 for economic development activities.

• Agreement with attorney Michael Gilliard to represent the city in workers’ compensation court in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

• Final replat of 4.65 acres located on the south side of Chandler Road between Eastpointe Road and Muskogee Turnpike. A funeral home is proposed for construction on the property.

• Final replat of 7.6 acres located on the north side of Shawnee Bypass between Country Club Road and North 41st Street East. A security company has proposed building a facility there.

• Filing of supplement to the city code.

• Appointment of Jim Blair to the Convention and Tourism Committee for a term ending June 30, 2012.

• Changes in ordinance on the use of firearms in the city.

• Changes to correct typographical errors in the schedule of fees for use of Spaulding Pool, River Country Water Park and the Swim and Fitness Center.
