Paddlefish targeted for caviar Demand for delicacy could threaten spoonbill By D. E. SmootPhoenix Staff Writer Anglers who catch tagged paddlefish are urged contact the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation at the telephone number listed on the tag. Anglers can also find out information about the tagged fish that was caught by logging on to www.wildlifedepartment.com/paddlefishtag.htm.
According to the department, an estimated 65,000 paddlefish can be found in the eastern two-thirds of the state. Adult paddlefish can range from 50 to 120 pounds.
