Dickmann Glass Co. is adding 6,000 square feet to it 18,000 square foot plant at 223 E. Broadway, said David Dickmann. About 95 percent of the company’s work is for the commercial market rather than residential, he said.
Dickmann opened here in 1907 when David Dickmann’s grandfather and his brother came here from Sedalia, Mo., and set up business on South Third Street. They moved in 1925 to Third and Denison streets and remained there until Arrowhead Mall was built.
They moved to their present location in 1986, Dickmann said.
The expansion now under way will cost about $200,000, he said. The company had run out of space, and he chose to make the addition rather than move.
Dickmann Glass employs about 20 workers and could add some more with the addition, he said.
Dickmann also recently renovated the building just back of the glass company for Muskogee Fence’s new offices and warehouse.
