Published September 05, 2008 11:38 am - AM UPDATE: Man guilty of killing teen stepdaughter A Wagoner County jury deliberated 13 and one-half hours to return a guilty verdict against Oscar Patterson III in the 1997 killing his 15-year-old stepdaughter.
Jurors began deliberating Thursday night and returned a verdict about 6:30 a.m. today, said First Assistant District Attorney John David Luton. Patterson, 48, was first convicted of the murder of Tiffiany Beverly in Tulsa County District Court in 2000. His conviction was overturned two years later by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. The appellate court ruled evidence indicated the killing took place in Wagoner County. Patterson was accused of killing Beverly to cover up his sexually abusing her.
