During its regular meeting Tuesday, the Muskogee Board of Education:
Heard that renovations to Indian Bowl Stadium should be ready by Fridays football home game.
Heard that the renovations to media centers at Irving and Tony Goetz Elementary Schools, plus a Muskogee High School science lab, should be completed by early next week.
Heard that the choir and band room addition at 7th and 8th Grade Center might not be completed by planned date of Sept. 22.
Approved technology policy.
Voted on estimate of needs for fiscal year 2009: $42.4 million for general fund; $1.4 million for building fund and $3.8 million for child nutrition fund.
Approved $104,854 bid from Rockey Electric for electrical upgrades.
Approved $134,650 bid from FRC for improvements to Indian Bowl Stadium.
Approved $1,229,210 bid from Standard Roofing for roofing restoration project for seven schools and Professional Development Center.
Approved a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for two social workers to work at elementary schools.
Voted on hiring Rita Nidifer as a part time math instructional coach, districtwide.
Voted on hiring Bill Hearn as a part-time music instructional coach, districtwide.
Voted on hiring John Tyler Hammons as a C.L.E.A.R. Project student mentor, contingent on funding.
Voted on hiring David Walkingstick and Sheril Morgan as prevention specialists for C.L.E.A.R. Project.
