Two area men pleaded guilty Wednesday to being illegal aliens in possession of firearms.

William A. Vellasquez, 27, of Roland had been indicted by a federal grand jury in Muskogee in July.

Fernando Salinas Garza, 35, of Tahlequah pleaded guilty to the same crime, along with illegal re-entry of a removed alien, said U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling.

Sentencing for the two will be set after receipt of pre-sentencing reports.

• Wade D. Wood, 37, of Milburn pleaded guilty Wednesday to conversion of mortgaged property in connection with a series of farm loans from the Farm Service Agency. He pledged livestock, equipment and crops as collateral for the loans but sold wheat and soybean crops and failed to pay the proceeds of the sale to Farm Service Agency, Sperling said.

• A federal grand jury that convened Tuesday issued the following indictments Wednesday:

• Jennifer Michelle Tackett, aka, Jennifer M. Milligan, 30, of Shady Point — Misapplication of financial institution funds while an employee of the Community State Bank in Spiro. She is alleged to have embezzled $13,000, Sperling said.

• John Wayne Pinckard, 63, of Broken Bow — Manufacture of marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and felon in possession of a firearm.

• Anita Marie Smith, 36, of Watson — Money order fraud. While an employee of the United States Postal Service, she is alleged to have issued money orders without remitting the money order funds and fees to the USPS.

In order to cover her issuance of money orders, she wrote at least five personal checks subsequently returned to the USPS as being insufficient funds, Sperling said.
