MUSKOGEE (AP) — Federal prosecutors say the leader of an eastern Oklahoma drug ring has pleaded guilty to drug charges.
U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling says Johnny “Tick” Smith of Eufaula faces 30 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy and drug distribution charges.
Sperling says Smith’s operation supplied drugs in the eastern half of the state and was run as a business. He says Smith’s employees were given incentives such as vacations to Cancun, the Bahamas and Disney World.
Sperling says the drug ring was broken up after a three-year undercover investigation.
