Smith said one of his sons got him started thinking about the potential of the center. “We had this facility and were using it to some light degree when my son Chris challenged me to develop it,” he said. “We asked our staff to do an evaluation, and under their leadership it became this beautiful facility. To our great pleasure it filled a great demand in the community.” If you go WHAT: Male Seminary Family Recreation Center. WHERE: 1501 Graham Ave., just off of Fourth Street behind Cherokee Elder Care and Go Ye Village. HOURS: Monday through Thursday 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. ADMISSION: Free of charge for Cherokee Nation citizens and employees, and their immediate families. A small monthly fee will be required for all others. INFORMATION: 453-5496.
