Published October 16, 2007 03:14 pm - PM UPDATE: Native cultural camp set for weekend The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians and Seven Clans of the Fire will host a Cultural Camp on Friday and Saturday, three miles west of West Siloam Springs, off U.S. 412.
All tribes and public invited to hear traditional Native American stories and to share native cultures and traditions. Participants may learn how to create crafts such as corn husk dolls and baskets. Visitors can participate in traditional games such as stickball, marbles, ring toss and corn stalk shoot. A potluck dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday and a traditional hog fry at noon Saturday. Overnight camping is permitted. No alcohol or drugs will be allowed. The UKB and Seven Clans of the Fire are not responsible for accidents or theft that may occur on UKB property or at UKB events.
