At its meeting Tuesday, the City of Muskogee Public Works and Finance Committees approved:
• Appointing Kathy Fite to the Muskogee Tree Board.
• Appointing Mark Green as acting judge.
• Accepting final plans and specifications for the Coody Creek outfall wastewater improvements and authorize advertising for bids.
• Adopting a reversionary deed granting the Oklahoma Military Department the 51 acres at Davis Field for the construction and operation of an armed forces reserve center.
• Amending the city code to lower from 16 years to 12 years the minimum age at which the truancy ordinance will apply.
• Amending the city code to raise the minimum fine necessary to invoke the right to a jury trial from $200 to $500.
• Tabling action on revocation of Morgan Taxi Service certificate of convenience for two weeks. Morgan’s liability insurance had expired but has now been renewed. Councilor Janey Cagle and Mayor Wren Stratton voted against the delay.
• Receiving E-911 report for September.
• Claims.
• Denying $10,000 tort claim from Linda Harris for damage to her vehicle by city vehicle.
• Low bid of $16,501.29 from Goddard Enterprises for new siren.
• Second low bid of $61,747.68 from Keystone Equipment for backhoe. Low bid from Van Keppel failed to meet specifications.
• Accepting low bid on Civic Center interior renovations project.
• Retaining Steven Andrew to represent the city in arbitration with AFSCME, the non-uniformed employees union.
• Holding executive session at Monday night’s City Council meeting to consider settlement of worker’s compensation claims by Bert Poole and Joshua Jenkins and for employee evaluations for council appointees: city manager, city attorney, city clerk and assistant city attorney.
