25 felony charges filed against Porum man

By Donna Hales
Phoenix Staff Writer

A Porum man who led law enforcement to where he had hidden dozens of stolen items was charged with 25 felonies Friday.

Christopher Allen Mann, 35, faces multiple counts in 10 felony cases that include arson, grand larceny, knowingly concealing stolen property, false declaration of ownership in pawn, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Mann has admitted to law enforcement that he stole many of the items and then stashed them in various places until he could sell them.

Some of the items he pawned included stolen saddles, according to court filings. He is charged with burning a 2007 boat belonging to Sooner Salvage in order to divert attention so he could steal a stock trailer from the business. He already had stolen two other trailers from Sooner Salvage, he said.

Grand larceny counts include items taken from the Muskogee Community Landfill: 1,000 gallons of diesel, a 1,000-gallon fuel tank and a Lincoln grease gun that was valued at more than $1,000.

Other stolen goods Mann has admitted to absconding with include: pickups, eight stock and/or flatbed trailers, a 2007 Raptor 4-wheeler, a Thermal Arc Welder, eight head of cattle, a 2008 Polaris four-wheel off road vehicle and a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle.

Mann is behind held without bond in Muskogee County/City Detention Facility.

He is scheduled to appear at a sounding docket on Nov. 25 in Muskogee County District Court.

Mann was arrested in late October after he led law enforcement officers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Creek Nation, Muskogee County and city police on a manhunt in the Wainwright area. He allegedly set fires after he abandoned a stolen pickup and set out on foot, hoping to keep lawmen busy putting out the fires.
